Sokcho is a city in Gangwon Province, South Korea. It is located in the far northeast of Gangwon. This city is a major tourist hub, and a popular gateway to nearby Seoraksan national park. Sokcho is home to the lakes - Yeongrangho and Cheongchoho that are naturally created by the East Sea. One of the northernmost towns on the East Coast, Sokcho is a quaint getaway from the busy streets of Seoul. Being so far removed from the capital gives Sokcho a character that will win you over as soon as you start exploring what’s on offer.
The city is known for its beaches, natural hot springs, golf courses, and fine fishery products. Experience the local cuisine in the various food districts of the city. In fact, there is a proper area dedicated to restaurants and food stalls, known as "Foodtown" where you can find mainly Korean style beef, chicken, and pork. During the Seorak cultural festival, the Sokcho city comes to life, and you can enjoy the parades, races, various contests, stage shows, and various other forms of entertainment.
