Today, we remember the legendary Maharana Pratap Singh — a true symbol of Bravery, Patriotism and sacrifice His unmatched courage in His legendary Battle of Haldighati in 1576 symbolizes unmatched bravery, sacrifice and love for the motherland. Stands as a proud chapter in Indian history.
Despite hardships, he never bowed down or accepted defeat. He chose the path of honour and resistance, even when it meant living in forests and mountains with his family. His undying love for Mewar and Bharat Mata still inspires generations.
Aravalli hills, forests of Gogunda, Chavand, and Kumbhalgarh became his strongholds during his guerrilla resistance.
Places You Must Visit to Know the Legacy of Maharana Pratap:
• Haldighati (1576) – the historic battlefield near Nathdwara
• Devra (1582)- refers to the Battle of Dewair, successfully destroyed 36 Mughal outposts, and nearly 20,000 Mughal soldiers surrendered or were killed. Akbar never attempted to invade Mewar again. one of his most decisive victories, even more strategically successful than Haldighati.
• Chetak Smarak – in memory of his loyal horse
• Moti Magri, Udaipur – statue & light show depicting his life
• Kumbhalgarh Fort – “Great Wall of India” world's second-largest wall (36 KMS) Maharana Pratap Childhood Place & a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
