𝗚𝘂𝘄𝗮𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗶, 𝟭𝟮 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁: Tokyo Olympics Bronze medalist Lovlina Borgohain received a grand welcome at Guwahati airport on August 12.
Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma , sport minister Bimal Bora welcomed the star boxer Lovlina and felicitated her at the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra in the presence of several top dignitaries.
Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma presented Lovlina Rs.1 crore, and offered the post of Deputy SP in the state police by the state government.
A road in Guwahati will also be named after her and a monthly scholarship of Rs.1 lakh till the Paris Olympic in 2024 as "she has set her eyes on winning a gold there" said Himanta Biswa Sarma.
He also announced that a sports complex worth Rs.25 crore with a boxing academy will be set up at Sarupathar under which Lovlina's village Baro Mukhiya falls, to groom rural talents in sports.
Her five coaches will be honoured with Rs.10 lakh each as a token of gratitude from the people of Assam, said the chief minister.

Sports Authority of India (SAI) has organized an event at Ashoka Hotel to honour all the medal winners at the Tokyo Olympics. Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur accompanied by several formal Olympic athletes and Government of India officials will be present in the event.
Prime Minister 𝗡𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗶 will also interact with the players through video conferencing during the event.

𝗚𝘂𝘄𝗮𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗶, 𝟰 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁: Indian boxer 𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒂 𝑩𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒐𝒉𝒂𝒊𝒏 won a bronze medal in her debut Olympic games after eight years of sacrifices and hard work.
Lovlina is from Assam’s Golaghat district, she started out as a Muay Thai practitioner, took to boxing in 2012.
Two-time world championship bronze medallist Lovlina lost in the welterweight (69kg) semifinals to reigning world champion 𝑩𝒖𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒂𝒛 𝑺𝒖𝒓𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒍𝒊 of Turkey.
