Examination session underway at Rumtek Monastery.

The video is taken in Jan 2026 where young monks were taking examination for the yearly session.
Rumtek Monastery is one of the oldest monastery in Sikkim. Built in the early 1700s, the monastery follows Karma Kagyu sect of Tibetan Buddhism and now homes around 250 monks at a time.

The Nalanda Dharma Chakra Centre which is situated inside the premises of the monastery, teaches Sanskrit and buddhist philosophy to the monks and to citizens who are interested in learning such knowledge.

Rumtek Monastery also is home to or a seat in exile for his holiness Karma Pa and the new monastery structure is also the exact replica of Tshurpu monastery in Tibet, the original seat for his holiness Karma Pa.

Buddha Park, Ravangla 📍

Sikkim is a buddhist state, where people practice Tibetan or Vajrayana Buddhism. Much like Hinduism, the buddhism that we practice here has three main deities or teachers, Sakyamuni Buddha, Guru Padmasambhava and Chenrizig. Beside the main three teachers we also have boddhisattvas, that protects the dharma and its followers.
At the shrine of Buddha Park, you can witness the iconography of each important teachers and boddhisatvas of Tibetan Buddhism.
This monument is one of the tallest statue of Gautam Buddha in all of India.
The Kanchenjunga range at the backdrop and the calm atmosphere of this place, dazzles you in every possible way.

The first snow of the winter is just magical yet very punishing. The tourist vehicle reached till 20th mile, 8km below Tsomgo Lake, but the joy of visitors made it seem like the targeted destination. Permits for Nathula and Tsomgo lake might get halted for some days, so in the meantime you can visit North Sikkim.

The wonderful 5 day trip ended with what we were looking for, The view of the mighty Kanchenjunga Range.

We travelled through the dusty road, we hiked, we waited, we woke up early at 5.00 am but still we were unable to have the view of Kanchenjunga.

Just when our guest's lost hope and what was to be their last day in Sikkim, I myself guided them to change their itinerary and took them to Nathula and Tsomgo lake.

Oh my! oh my!, the view we had and the weather. It was dreamlike. We made our guest's as happy as they could have been. We will change and mold ourself with your needs and will do whatever it takes to make your holiday in Sikkim as majestic as the view we got today.
