# 🚚 Top 10 Mistakes People Make While Hiring Movers
Moving to a new home should be exciting, but choosing the wrong movers can turn the experience into a costly headache. Before you book a moving company, avoid these common mistakes.
1️⃣ Not Researching the Company
Many people hire movers without checking reviews, ratings, or company background. Always verify their online presence and customer feedback.
2️⃣ Choosing Movers Only Based on Price
The cheapest quote is not always the best option. Extremely low prices may indicate poor service quality or hidden charges.
3️⃣ Not Asking for a Written Quotation
Verbal estimates can lead to unexpected costs later. Always request a detailed written quotation before confirming your booking.
4️⃣ Ignoring Insurance Coverage
Accidents can happen during transportation. Ensure your belongings are covered through transit insurance for added peace of mind.
5️⃣ Not Checking Experience and Expertise
Experienced movers know how to handle fragile items, furniture, appliances, and long-distance relocations safely.
6️⃣ Not Clarifying Hidden Charges
Ask about packing charges, GST, toll taxes, labour costs, staircase charges, waiting charges, and other possible expenses.
7️⃣ Skipping the Terms and Conditions
Many customers do not read the agreement carefully. Understand cancellation policies, delivery timelines, and liability clauses.
8️⃣ Poor Communication
Miscommunication regarding inventory, pickup schedules, or delivery addresses can create delays and confusion.
9️⃣ Not Checking Packing Materials
Quality packing materials play a major role in protecting your belongings during transit. Ensure professional-grade packing is used.
🔟 Not Confirming Delivery Timelines
Always confirm expected pickup and delivery dates to avoid last-minute surprises and unnecessary delays.
