Standing together at Tiananmen Square was just one beautiful moment in a journey filled with unforgettable experiences. From the bright lights of Shanghai, the magical days aboard Spectrum of the Seas, the peaceful streets of Nagasaki, the vibrant charm of Fukuoka, to witnessing the awe-inspiring Terracotta Army in Xi’an and finally exploring the treasures of Beijing, from the majestic Forbidden City to the iconic Great Wall of China. Every stop added a new chapter to our adventure.

Grateful for the laughter, learning, and memories we created across Japan & China and also grateful for the amazing people who made every moment special

This year, Colonels and Kadys Worldwide celebrated Diwali in a way none of us will ever forget. We performed a full Lakshmi Pooja, Diya-lighting ceremony, and honoured every traditional Hindu ritual while sailing in the middle of the East China Sea aboard Spectrum of the Seas.

As the waves surrounded us and the sky met the horizon, we lit our diyas just like we do back home with devotion, gratitude, and love. The glow of those tiny flames against the vast ocean felt surreal, a reminder that our culture travels with us wherever we go.

And what’s Diwali without the flavours of home? We arranged authentic Indian sweets and snacks onboard from warm, comforting Gajar ka Halwa to creamy Kheer, along with everyone’s favourite traditional snacks. Enjoying these homemade delights while cruising through the sea was an experience that felt both unbelievable and deeply emotional.

We ended the night the Indian way dancing our hearts out to desi beats, laughing, celebrating, and sharing Diwali joy with our global family.

In the middle of the ocean, we didn’t just celebrate Diwali we celebrated what it means to be Indian.
