We have had snowfall very early on in this season. But hey, we’re not complaining. We don’t mind an extra shade of colour in our landscape, we don’t even mind a snowball fight!

Clicked during a recently conducted trek to Dodital this winter. A cold night reveals an extremely beautiful morning such as this. A hot cup of tea on this cold morning, snow blanketing the view as far as the eye can see, an experience that have never had before. Now onto the next adventure!

Our feet are wet and cold, our bodies are tired, we wonder what madness brought us here. But with views like this and an out of the world experience that very few are lucky enough to be in, we aren’t complaining...

We have had a crazy winter here in the Himalayas this time with record snowfall. But again, we aren’t complaining!

Our life passes by at a dizzying pace thanks to our ambitions and our goals. Our daily runs and our life’s targets.

It helps that tranquil places like these exist. Our pace comes to a temporary halt. We sit there, in the moment. Our tent, the bonfire, the blue skies and the green earth are the only things that matter. There is a symphony in the winds and a canvas of nature in the skies and our minds can be at peace!

From our archives. Members of The Doon School expedition to Mt Kedar Dome led by our founder Dr SC Biala near the summit of Mt Kedar Dome(22,415 ft). The year is 1998. Views that would stay with us for a lifetime don’t you think?
Kedar Dome is one of the tallest mountains and most prominent mountains in the Garhwal Himalayas, it is the twin peak of the much revered Kedar Nath peak, at the base of which is the Kedar Nath temple.

Dodital is a fabulous place! Its surrounded by dense forests on every side and so is the trail to get to Dodital. Even the hills that you cross have a dominating presence and we feel that we are in the middle of a bit of grandeur. It is located at an altitude of 9,000 ft and on most months of the year, the climate is just perfect. The trek is doesnt have any tricky patches and quite gradual most of the way.
Some of the reasons we think Dodital is fabulous and we recommend it if you want to experience the Himalayan wilderness for the first time.
Dodital is also the origin of the Assi Ganga river which is a major tributary to the Bhagirathi river. We can see it originating from the lake in this pic.

The Himalayas are a happy place. The air is pure and positive, the mountains and skies show us the best of themselves. These may be tired faces, but theyre all happy. Happy to be in places like these. Eager to climb that mountain and then climb another!

A good quote to define the Himalayas!
The Himalayas make us slog, they make us work through adversities and discomforts. But they reward us with views beyond words.
This was clicked somewhere around Chopta around January. This is a road but its pretty much empty during the winter months because of the amount of snow. This for us became pretty much an expedition where we were using snow boots, ropes etc to get here. We endured temperatures around -20 but for the the views we find, these are promises that we must always keep.
