Indiaโs First National Park โ Jim Corbett
Established in 1936, Jim Corbett National Park is Indiaโs first national park. Named after the legendary hunter-turned-conservationist Jim Corbett, this iconic wildlife sanctuary is nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, near the popular hill station of Nainital.
Renowned for having the highest number of tigers among all Indian national parks, Corbett spans a vast area of 1,318.54 sq. km, with 520 sq. km designated as the core zone and the rest as buffer.
