WHO is this street really designed for?

Broken footpaths. Limited parking. Endless traffic. Obstacles everywhere. And somewhere in between it all - the pedestrian.

Our streets aren’t just for vehicles. They’re shared public spaces, and the people walking through them deserve to feel safe, comfortable and considered.

It’s time we ask better questions about how our cities move - and who they move for.

Because a truly sustainable city doesn’t just move people faster. It helps everyone move better.

This Independence Day, let’s imagine an India where freedom also means the freedom to move. 🇮🇳

A city where every street is walkable, every journey is accessible, every cyclist feels safe, and public transport connects people with dignity.

Because truly inclusive cities aren’t just built for movement - they’re built for people. 🌱

Here’s to building streets, neighbourhoods and cities that leave no one behind.

A good footpath isn’t just a strip of pavement. It’s continuous, accessible, safe, shaded, and designed for everyone. 🌿

From missing links to inaccessible paths, unsafe crossings and zero shade — these are the red flags we shouldn’t have to navigate every day.

Because a city that’s truly walkable shouldn’t make walking feel like an obstacle course.

What’s your biggest footpath red flag? 👀

Every day, millions of women move through India’s cities navigating, adapting, and showing up.

No seat. No shade. No fixed schedule. And yet, she keeps moving.

Her commute deserves to be easier. Safer. Better designed.

And the conversation about making that happen? It starts here.

This is what we work towards at CGM — streets and systems that work for everyone. 🌱

POV: My school bag has something to say.

“I carry notebooks, lunch, and hopes for the future. The city should carry safe sidewalks, crossings, and streets.”

Every child deserves a journey to school that feels as safe as the classroom itself.

For far too many children, the school day begins by navigating speeding traffic, broken roads, and streets without sidewalks.

Walking shouldn’t require courage. Because the right to education should also include the right to reach it safely.
