✈️ Safety on the Ground for Safety in the Skies

At Quikjet Cargo Airlines Pvt. Ltd., safety begins long before a flight takes off. Each morning at 8:30 a.m., Cdr. B.K. Bhaskaran (Retd.), Head of Flight Safety, and his team review flight data across the fleet. Every parameter is checked for anomalies, ensuring potential risks are identified before they escalate.

“Monitoring flight parameters is like keeping a finger on the pulse of our operations,” says Bhaskaran, whose decades of aviation experience guide the process. But safety isn’t limited to the skies. Across stations in Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and beyond, his team conducts spot checks, audits, and reviews of ground operations. From cargo handling to safety signage, every detail is scrutinized to eliminate hazards.

To empower staff, Quikjet has introduced a QR code system that allows employees to report concerns or suggest improvements anonymously. This simple tool has strengthened a culture where safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Awareness and recognition play a key role. Monthly safety bulletins and quarterly journals share lessons learned and best practices, while the “Quikjet Safety Star” award celebrates employees who go above and beyond in promoting safety. Collaboration across departments—maintenance, ground services, and operations—ensures safety is woven into every process.

“A safety culture isn’t built overnight; it’s cultivated daily through awareness, diligence, and teamwork,” Binu Bhaskaran reflects.

For the Flight Safety team, safety isn’t just a department—it’s a lifelong commitment to protecting lives, cargo, and Quikjet’s reputation.
