Denmark’s military intelligence said in its 2025 outlook that the United States now poses a security risk, marking this first-of-a-kind move for a close ally.

It said the US “no longer excludes the use of military force, even against allies,” citing tensions over Greenland.

The report said America’s growing focus on the Pacific creates uncertainty over its role as Europe’s primary security guarantor.

Danish officials said Europe must strengthen cooperation and deterrence amid US policy shifts and intensifying global rivalries.
