Metropoline is a private company that operates public transportation services under concession agreements with the Ministry of Transportation. As of this writing, Metropoline is considered one of the largest and leading companies in the industry, operating four service areas: The Negev and the South, the Sharon, the expanded Sharon and Holon and Ono-Elad. Under its operations, the company employs
over 2,000 drivers in a fleet of some 1,900 buses and minibuses, some of which are powered by gas and electricity, to protect the environment. Established in 2000, Metropoline won the tender to operate public transportation lines in the Negev, a tender that was renewed for a second time in 2012. In 2017, Metropoline won the " Expanded Sharon - Holon" tender, which is considered the Ministry of Transportation's largest tender, and under this tender, in 2019, it began operating additional intracity and intercity service lines. In 2022, Metropoline won the tender to operate transportation lines in Elad and the Ono Valley, taking over from Kavim. The tender was implemented in three pulses: in June 2023, during which 32 intracity and intercity service lines were launched in the city of Elad;
In October, 8 intracity service lines were launched in the Ono Valley (some using minibuses); And in January 2024, 24 additional service lines were launched in the Ono Valley. In 2023 Metropoline won the Sharon tender again, which it first acquired in 2010. Its operation will begin during April 2024, and will include the reactivation of service lines in the Sharon with a new fleet of buses, as well as reinforcing some of the service lines in the area and increasing their frequency to improve the lives of the area's residents. Metropoline promotes public transportation, is certified according to safety and quality standards, provides Wi-Fi services and USB ports, and operates air filtration and safety systems that serve the driver. In 2024, Metropoline is the fastest-growing company in the public transportation industry in Israel, both thanks to winning two large tenders from the Ministry of Transportation and because it has set its sights on leading the status of drivers in Israel, working tirelessly to improve their conditions, and always being at the forefront of the industry in terms of employment conditions and wages.
