In September last year a ringbuoy was thrown from Wexford Bridge into the river Slaney. Gardaí reviewed CCTV footage and following investigation we identified the suspect. The matter has now been dealt with through the Garda Adult Caution Scheme and no doubt a lesson has been learned by the person involved.

We cannot overstate the value of ringbuoys and the significance of unlawful interference with this life saving equipment. We treat such matters extremely seriously. Thanks to Wexford MarineWatch for reporting this matter to us.
