Portrunny Bay

Portrunny Bay Portrunny Bay is a village and harbour on Lough Ree, approximately 8km South of Roscommon town. The harbour has two piers, a playground, and a picnic area.

Portrunny Bay has outstanding views of the river Shannon, including a view of Inchcleraun, or Quakers island. Portrunny Bay is one of the most scenic and peaceful locations on the river Shannon. With very little development allowed, the area has retained its links to the past with traditional stone walls, and buildings. Many people also just choose to sit along the banks of the lake.
