Recently had some very special visitors from the UK who graciously agreed to be our guinea pigs at Bank Street B&B.

They are traveling along the coastal towns of Louisiana and Mississippi, and while they were here we put them to work trying out one of the special experiences we will offer our guests - - our Boudin Trail Tasting.

It was their first time tasting boudin, Abita Root B**r, and Steen's Syrup, and we had a grand old time introducing them to a few of our favorite Louisiana things. Couldn't have asked for better first time guests.

Before anyone gets too excited... No we are not open yet! We still have plenty of work to do around this old house, but we're getting closer every day.

Until then we'll keep tinkering, tasting, and welcoming a few lucky guinea pigs along the way. 😉

Because Eric has to add his own special touch to any recipe, this tiny delight of a sweet potato biscuit has orange zest with Steen's Syrup, for a magical pairing made in heaven. 🤤

B&B guests who get this for breakfast will be delightfully surprised by how much flavor is in this little treat.

If asked what my favorite breakfast food is, especially something growing up in southwest louisiana, I will immediately tell you Steen's! I can't ever remember not having that yellow can in our pantry, covered with aluminum foil because they didn't have glass bottles at the time.

Eric grew up in Kentucky, so when it comes to syrup we are a house divided, but I'm slowly turning him to the dark side. 😉
