⚠️ Ferry Service Update – Wednesday 5th Aug

Due to forecast high winds around the island, all Saltee Ferry sailings scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday) have been cancelled.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. However, the safety of our passengers and crew must always come first.

Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to welcoming you on board when conditions improve.

Summer isn't over yet.
Don’t be fooled into thinking the magic ends when Puffin season wraps up! 🐧 While our colourful little friends may be heading out to sea, the Saltee Islands are still absolutely buzzing with life.

Right now, the cliffs are alive with the sound of gulls, guillemots, and gannets galore! 🐦 But keep your eyes peeled—the island is also home to oystercatchers, meadow pipits, cormorants, shags, and skylarks.

Whether you're a birdwatcher or just love coastal views, there is still so much to see. Keep an eye out for playful seals in the water (they’re here year-round!) and the abundance of wild rabbits hopping through the grass.

Due to heavy traffic expected for the Bannow & Rathangan Agricultural Show and the Kilmore Quay Seafood Festival taking place in the area, passengers are advised to allow extra time to reach their scheduled sailing.

To avoid delays, please plan ahead and arrive at Kilmore Quay with plenty of time to spare. There may be diversions along approaching routes, and parking will be affected. We want to ensure everyone has a smooth journey to the Saltee Islands!

A reminder to all passengers travelling on the Saltee Ferry this Thursday, 9th July.

The Bannow & Rathangan Show is taking place near Kilmore Quay, and significant traffic delays are expected on roads leading to Kilmore Quay .🚗

Please allow plenty of extra travel time to ensure you arrive well before your scheduled sailing.

⛴️ All ferry sailings are fully booked, and unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate passengers who miss their scheduled departure.
