Due to forecast high winds and unsafe sea conditions, all Saltee Ferry sailings scheduled for Friday, 19 June have been cancelled.

We know this will be disappointing news for those who had planned to travel. However, the safety of our passengers and crew must always come first.

🌊 Planning a trip to the Saltee Islands? Here’s what you need to know! 🐧

The boat ride is about 20 minutes across open sea – expect wind, waves, and a chance you’ll get splashed! 🌬️💦 Limited sheltered seating on board.

🛥️ Upon arrival, you’ll switch to a smaller boat and be fitted with a lifejacket.

⚠️ There is no pier or dock – you’ll be hopping ashore. Get ready for wet feet!

👢 Bring wellies (or go barefoot) + a towel. Watch for slippery, loose stones and seaweed underfoot.

🧗‍♂️ The terrain is rugged. Ancient stone steps greet you at landing – no level paths, just uneven tracks from walkers and burrowing animals.

🚫 Not buggy-friendly.

✅ A good level of stamina & fitness is a must. Conditions change daily with weather & tide – beyond our control.

Come prepared for a real adventure! 🥾🌊🐦
