Donegal Bay delivered two red-letter days we'll⁷ never forget! The weather finally cleared up, and the fishing was on fire—more fish than we've seen in years. It was non-stop action, with fish after fish.
Yesterday, we broke our record with 12 amazing fish, and today we smashed it with 13! This makes us the top boat or organization in northern Europe for satellite tagging and DNA sampling Bluefin Tuna.
A massive shout-out to my great friends from the Marine Institute, Alan Drum and Joe Cooney. They've been leading the charge here since 2016, and they just broke all records for non-traditional Bluefin Tuna countries in Europe, tagging and sampling 25 tuna in two days! A huge thank you also to Darragh, Alan's son, who was a huge help on board yesterday. Their dedication is what makes the satellite tagging program here in Donegal Bay world-class. It’s an honor to be a part of it.

It's been far too long, but I'm thrilled to announce that the 2025 tuna season is officially open!

​This morning, my youngest son Cian and I went out to find our first fish of the season. We didn't have to go far—just three nautical miles from the harbor, we were surrounded by birds, whales, dolphins, and, most importantly, tuna.

​Just 20 minutes after dropping our lures, we had a double hookup. Cian battled hard, and we managed to get both fish alongside: an 83-inch and a 90-inch, estimated at around 400 lbs and 500 lbs. A short time later, we hooked into another big one, a beautiful 450-pounder. All three fish were successfully tagged and released.

​The day was made even more spectacular by the incredible wildlife we saw. We had the pleasure of watching four humpback whales, two fin whales, and plenty of dolphins and minke whales.

​There are some dates available for tuna trips this season. If they aren't filled, we'll be doing more wildlife tours to give you the chance to witness these breathtaking scenes yourself.

Good morning to the already signed up and potential competitors in this year's Killybegs Sea Angling competition.
We have 6 spaces left to fill.
This is the scorecard we use. The competition will be based on percentages.
The winner of each boat gets 100% the others get a percentage score relative to the top angler on the boat.
There will be a boat draw in the Well Brea bar on Friday night at 2000.

Good morning,
After a 4 year lapse will be running a limited boat fishing competition on 8th and 9th July.
We are limited to 30 anglers total on 3 boats
Leah-c , Deep Blue, and Meridian
We opened entries to club members first and a number of people who were asking already.
We now have 15 seniors and 1 junior signed up.
Therefore there are ONLY 14 PLACES LEFT.
