✈️ Kerry Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes departs from Kerry Airport

The 2026 Kerry Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes departed today from Kerry Airport, travelling direct to Lourdes for this special annual journey of faith, care, and community.

The pilgrimage will take place from June 10th to June 15th, with pilgrims returning to Kerry Airport next Monday.

Wishing all pilgrims, assisted pilgrims, helpers, medical volunteers, and pilgrimage leaders a safe and meaningful trip.

ADRIAN Neilan, the new Kerry Airport CEO, will attend the Routes Europe Conference in Rimini, Italy (18-20 May) where he will meet with prospective carriers with the view to developing routes into Kerry.

Already a week into his new role, he hit the ground running meeting the staff, management and Directors on site in Farranfore.

Three of the Kerry Airport Directors Kathleen O’Regan-Sheppard, Matt Horgan and Company Secretary, John O’Sullivan met Adrian at the new Arrivals Hall on his second day in the job.

Kathleen O’Regan-Sheppard expressed the best wishes of her colleagues to Adrian and assured him of the board's support in his new role. She also thanked Basil Sheerin (CFO), Howard Jones (COO), Tom O'Driscoll (Security Manager) and the staff of Kerry Airport for the smooth and efficient operation of the Airport over the past number of months having experienced record-breaking passenger numbers in 2025.

Routes Europe from 18-20 May will unite decision-makers from airlines, airports, destinations and aviation stakeholders that are invested in the future of European air connectivity.

Kerry Airport is pleased to announce the appointment of Adrian Neilan as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Adrian assumes the role following a record-breaking year in 2025 with over 440,000 passengers, the highest in its history, travelling through the airport.

A native of Ardfert, Co. Kerry, he returns home to the Kingdom with a deep personal connection and a strong professional track record spanning more than two decades.

Adrian Neilan, pictured, will take up the position next month (May).

Kerry Airport Welcomes €2.76m funding under the Regional Airports Programme 2026-2030.

Among the projects being supported this year at Kerry Airport are the replacement of Fire Tenders and investments in new safety and security upgrades.

The funding provided for both operational and capital expenditure has been critical to delivering investment to upgrade safety and security infrastructure.
