Want your pressed flowers to keep their vibrant colours and stop mould in its tracks? Here is how to prep 6 popular blooms before they hit the press! 🌸👇
🌿 Astilbe: Snip into smaller branchlets so the thick center stem doesn’t prevent even pressing.
🌿 Eucalyptus: Press individual small flat sprigs. Trim off woody stems that create uneven pressure.
🌿 Eryngium (Sea Holly): Cut the head off the stem and trim down the prickly bloom to flatten the profile.
🌿 Rose: Deconstruct! Press petals individually, or slice small buds in half vertically.
🌿 Skimmia: Thin out the cluster by trimming off excess buds and stems so it lays completely flat.
🌿 Lisianthus: Remove the bulky calyx and press the petals flat face-down.
