In the winter of 1602, Donal Cam O'Sullivan Beare gathered the last of his people in Glengarriff and led them north on a 500-mile march to Leitrim. 📣

This weekend - over 400 years later - Glengarriff is one of the Beara villages helping to welcome the clan home and celebrate what we hope will be a world-record-beating family name gathering! 🔥

On Friday night the village bars will be alive with music. 🎶

On Sunday evening the Eccles Hotel will host a buffet with music and entertainment to round off a remarkable weekend. ☘️

And on Sunday afternoon at Dunboy Castle, Phase One of the Beara Breifne Way will be officially opened, tracing the famous march north in a iconic hertage walking trail.

📣Announcement - An additional service on Route 231 commencing on Friday 6th February 2026. This additional service will depart Castletownbere at 1pm and also depart Cork at 1pm. The service at 8am and 6pm will continue as usual. Please email or phone to book. Detailed schedule to follow.
