Over the last year, in our spare time, myself (Jack Stenson) and Gar Walsh have been developing a cool idea! ParkShark is an app which allows a homeowner/renter to share their parking space(s) with others when it's not being used and earn money, and also allows people with cars to easily find a space to park and save time and money!
Launching today in Ireland, UK and USA, parking space owners can tag theirs on the map, choose when it's available and set the price per hour/day/week/month! Drivers can then view the homescreen of the app to see where is available to park right now (for a sub-24 hour booking) or use a menu option to search for a long-term space for their daily commute etc.
There are clunky websites that allow people to share parking spaces but these charge up to 25% of what the homeowner charges. Because we've built ParkShark on automatic, lean processes we can charge only 10% so if a home owner sets their price at €/£/$100 per month for their space they get 90!
