Free admission for all visitors under the age of 18 to Athenry Castle and other OPW heritage sites this August!
This initiative aims to encourage young people to explore their heritage and enjoy all that Ireland has to offer. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Free admission to all fee-paying sites with the exception of Kilmainham Gaol and Brú na Bóinne. Full details are available at: https://heritageireland.ie/
Athenry is one of the best preserved medieval towns in Ireland and is the perfect stop off for a break if heading west. There is ample parking and plenty of restaurants. A visit to the castle will include a fully guided tour by our friendly and knowledgeable guides.

The Slea Head Drive on the Di**le Peninsula is one of those roads you remember long after the trip is over 🚗🌊

In places, the road is tightly wedged between steep cliffs and the Atlantic Ocean, with bend after bend opening out to rugged coastal scenery, little beaches and offshore islands 😍

It can feel narrow at times, especially during the busier months, but it’s easily one of the most rewarding drives in Ireland.
