The weather has settled down lovely at last. After an afternoon at the tope yesterday we decided to try our first Shark drift of the year today. It is still early up here for the blues but we have been having a bit of luck with the Porbegals this very the last few seasons. Anyway we had no luck today but we did have some different species from the bottom and Bruno had this lovely Blue Mouth.

Nice to get a half calm day in the estuary with some fresh bait. I have still not got to my favourite Tope marks yet due to the weather but this sheltered mark did produce som nice Tope up to 35lbs.

At last a lovely drift over the reefs.

At last a bit of weather and a new group starting. See me familiar faces and some new. So even catching their first sea fish!
We did not go far from the loop but mackerel were very scarce. On the other had the ground was covered in small Coalfish and plenty Pollack. Lots of action on the drift.

Well we are not getting out much with the weather this week but there is always something to do!!

We a poor week of weather for this group but we got out most days in the estuary with one day out to the Loop. They got a nice mix of fish considering the conditions.

A lovely group in from the south of England this week. Unfortunately they are not getting the best of weather but we did get west today and had some good sport on light gear for Pollack. Also managed to round up enough mackerel to do is for bait for a few days. And the ground is covered in handy Coalfish.
We did most of the day yesterday in the estuary and had a few Ray and a fine Bullhuss. I’d say we will be in the estuary for a few more days this week!!

I have 2 spaces left on a trip for next Saturday the 30 May. We will be aiming for some long drifts over the reefs west of Loophead.

We are back out doing a few day charters. There seem to be some nice sized Mackerel around which is nice to see. Plenty of Coalfish and Pollack. And the amount of pollack make a complete nonsense of this new bag limit.
We also tried up the estuary today for a Tope. We did have a run or 2 but no hook up. But a real bonus fish was a lovely Monkfish / Angel Shark. Nice to think they are making their way back up the estuary.
