For PJ Horkan, driving has been a lifelong passion. "Since I was five years old, all I ever wanted to do was drive," he says. Now, with ๐ฑ๐ฌ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฒ๐
๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ under his belt, PJ is still doing what he loves - connecting people and making a difference in the community.
After retiring from full-time work, PJ joined ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐๐ณ๐ณ ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐น and has spent the last four years driving with ๐ง๐๐ ๐๐ผ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ธ ๐ ๐ฎ๐๐ผ, bringing adults with special needs from Swinford and Charlestown to Rehab Care in Castlebar five days a week.
Having a sister with special needs himself, PJ brings ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐๐ต๐, ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ, ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด to every journey. "Itโs challenging, but itโs good. Thereโs no two days the same," he says. "Meeting people and chatting - thatโs the best part of the job."
From beer trucks to school runs and community transport, PJ's journey is a powerful reminder of what it means to follow your passion and give back.
