Applied specialises in the design and distribution of portable blast machines and PTO Air Compressors. Applied is a 100% Irish owned company located in the centre of Ireland at Birr, Co. Offaly. We offer a broad range of portable blast machines, abrasive blasting related equipment, abrasive blasting media, spares and consumables. The Applied blast machines are built to ensure a long operating life

, with each unit being constructed from high quality components to withstand continuous use in the most demanding of applications. The Applied range of blast pots are efficient, combining safety and ease of use with performance, functionally and reliability. With our own in house demonstration facility, all products can be tried and tested before purchase. We hold extensive stock of all the products we sell and order fulfilment is carried out in-house. This means a very quick turnaround with around 98% of orders being despatched 'same day'. Next day delivery by courier can be arranged anywhere in Ireland or the U.K. For other destinations, contact us and we can advise individually. What a week! 🙌

A huge thank you to William Peters and his team from Lamar Trailers Inc., who travelled all the way from Texas, along with Joe Carey from Thrace Synthetic Ireland, for joining us on an Applied Concepts Ltd. Lean Tour.

One of the greatest compliments we can receive is knowing that some of the ideas and improvements you've seen here at Applied will be making the journey back to Texas to be adapted and used at Lamar Trailers. That's what Lean is all about – sharing, learning and continuously improving together.

What I found especially refreshing was how comfortable everyone felt in our environment. There was no holding back. Not only were ideas being taken away, but suggestions were being given back to us too. Fresh eyes often see opportunities that we can miss, and we genuinely value that feedback.

The week was packed with conversations, learning, problem-solving and bouncing ideas around. Different industries, different experiences, but one common goal: getting better every day.

This was Lean energy at its finest. ⚡

What a brilliant Lean Tour at Applied today! 🌟

We were delighted to welcome Tony Egan from BBSF, along with John and Amy Patan, who travelled all the way from Royal Bearing Company in Portland, Oregon, USA. Joining them were their children, Shepard, Ginger, Sebastian and Bentley, as well as their niece, Franchesca.

And what a tour it was!

The energy at Applied Concepts Ltd. was incredible from start to finish. There were great discussions, plenty of questions, lots of laughter, and a real eagerness to learn and share ideas. Our younger guests brought a whole new dimension to the tour, offering observations and perspectives that many of us hadn't considered before. 💡

One of the things we love most about Lean Tours is that every visitor sees the world through a different lens. Fresh eyes often spot opportunities that we've become blind to, and today's group certainly gave us plenty of food for thought.

Thank you to everyone for making the journey and for contributing so openly throughout the visit. It was lively, engaging, and a fantastic reminder that continuous improvement can come from anyone, regardless of age or experience.

A great result from this blasting job.

The customer summed it up well: this would have taken weeks by hand, but with the right equipment the job was completed in a fraction of the time.

A huge congratulations to Sean Lewis on winning the May Kaizen of the Month Award at Applied Concepts Ltd. 👏🏆

Without fail, Sean shares his improvements EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. His consistency, work ethic and mindset are something truly special. Sean always thinks of the next person, making sure everything is left better than he found it - a simple habit that has a massive impact across the business.

I genuinely don’t think Sean has an “off” switch. The effort, energy and pride he brings to work every day is a perfect example of the culture we are building at Applied. Continuous improvement isn’t just something we talk about here…people like Sean live it.

This customer has been working in umbilical spreading for around 15 years. Before using the Applied Varimount 350 PTO air compressor, they relied on tow-behind compressors. They did the job, but they were awkward and messy to move around.

With the Applied Varimount mounted on the tractor, compressed air is always there when it is needed.

Whether blowing out 6-inch or 5-inch pipe, the operator has a strong flow of air beside them at all times, helping to keep the job moving and reducing downtime in the field.

Simple, practical, and ready to work when you are.

Another fantastic Lean Tour at Applied today ☀️👏

We were delighted to welcome the team from Mullinahone Co-op along with special guest Sile Casey for a day full of learning, sharing ideas, and great conversations around continuous improvement.

The enthusiasm and energy throughout the tour were every bit as bright as the sunshine outside! 🌞 From thoughtful questions to engaging discussions on Lean, Gemba Docs, SOPs, teamwork, and culture, it was a truly uplifting experience for everyone involved.

A huge thank you to our visitors for bringing such positivity, curiosity, and willingness to learn. These tours are always a reminder that the Lean journey is best travelled together.
