Ballyboy Airfield

Ballyboy Airfield Ballyboy Airfield (EIMH) is situated near the town of Athboy in County Meath. We are very welcoming and accomadating 600m Licenced Grass Airfield

The first plane to land in Ballyboy was in 1994. It was on our grass runway cut between two fields on the Cullen Family Farm of near east/west orientation that Mick O'Connor touched down in EI-CGV, a Piper Cub J5A and in turn set in stone the future of aviation at Ballyboy Airfield. Since that first landing Ballyboy has grown to be one of the larger and well recognised airfields in the country. Wi

th a near 50% runway extension, new hangars and state of the art fuel systems, Ballyboy has propelled itself to the forefront of general aviation in Ireland. Ballyboy Airfield is situated 2nm northeast of Athboy Co. Meath and only 40 minutes from Dublin by motorway, putting us in an ideal location to accomodate visitors from all over Ireland and overseas. We have become the regular first port of call for many aircraft crossing the Irish sea to visit Ireland and we will strive to make your visit a most enjoyable and memorable day as possible. Feel free to contact us and we will do all we can to help you with your trip, including a warm welcome on arrival.

The 2019 Ballyboy Fly-in and Family Fun Day in aid of Down Syndrome Ireland took place on Sunday 4 August 2019. Thanks to everyone who attended and helped us to raise funds for DSI.

Under blue skies we had a full day of flying and entertainment. The kids were kept busy with our giant bouncy castles and face painters. And there was something for everyone with our full schedule of flying, with helicopters, our air display and lots of small aircraft activity throughout the day.

Special thanks to our many sponsors, volunteers, suppliers, supporters, our Flight Display Director and Follow-Me Aircraft Marshallers. Thanks also to our visiting pilots and crews who kept the huge crowd entertained – particularly the Garda helicopter, Air Corps Medevac helicopter, and our aerobatic displays from Rich Goodwin, the Irish Historic Flight Foundation and Eddie Goggins.
