Jakarta menargetkan 10.000 armada bus listrik beroperasi pada 2029 sebagai bagian dari transformasi transportasi publik yang lebih ramah lingkungan.

Target ini disampaikan oleh Gubernur DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung, seiring meningkatnya minat masyarakat menggunakan transportasi umum seperti TransJakarta. Salah satu faktor pendorongnya adalah kebijakan tarif khusus bagi 15 golongan masyarakat, termasuk pelajar, lansia, penyandang disabilitas, veteran, hingga penerima bantuan sosial.

Dengan penambahan armada bus listrik dan peningkatan layanan, Jakarta ingin menghadirkan transportasi publik yang lebih bersih, nyaman, dan efisien bagi warganya.

Elektrifikasi armada bus kota semakin dipandang sebagai langkah strategis dalam menurunkan dampak lingkungan transportasi umum. Studi ITDP Indonesia yang didukung ViriyaENB menunjukkan bahwa transisi ke bus listrik berpotensi menurunkan emisi gas rumah kaca hingga 66,7% dalam jangka panjang, seiring target nol emisi 2060.

Bagi industri bus, arah kebijakan dan riset ini membuka peluang baru dalam pengembangan produk dan kolaborasi lintas sektor.
