What at an amazing port - quite possibly the most beautifully breathtaking that I've ever been to!

I took an early-morning panoramic tour up into the surrounding mountains, followed by a stroll down to the Red Museum on communism. ⛰️⚒️

One of my favourite aspects of crusing with NCL is Free at Sea - for a set fee (it was only £95 on this cruise) you get the drinks package, a meal in a speciality restaurant, wifi, and most importantly $50 excursion credit per port. This cruise I've done six excursions and it hasn't cost a penny!

What an amazing first few days onboard the one-of-a-kind Norwegian Epic! 🛳

This sailing is 15 nights one way from New York City to Barcelona, via Bermuda, the Azores, Madeira, Cadiz, Motril, Ibiza, and Palma. 🇺🇸🇧🇲🇵🇹🇪🇸

This is my first transatlantic crossing and what a sailing it is shaping up to be - top notch food and entertainment from NCL as always!

Norwegian are now by far and away my preferred cruise line when travelling solo. They have a dedicated solo host, daily gatherings and dinners, and a range of hosted activities - there are over 100 solos onboard this cruise! I've met some fantastic people - and we're not even a third of a way through yet! 🙋🏻‍♂️

What a marvellous couple of days here in the big apple - the city that never sleeps! 🍎

Had a great couple of nights staying at the InterContinetal Barclay & Times Square, seeing The Show That Goes Wrong, and just wandering these magnificently confusing streets. 🗽

Now to head to the Port of Manhattan to pick up my ride home! 🛳

Everyone likes to spend a sea day differently - and what a sea day can look like for me varies greatly on who I'm with, where I am, and which ship I'm on. 🌊

MSC World Europa has this amazing adults only section at the aft of the ship - the Zen Pool - that provides the perfect spot to chill, sunbathe (he says with little hope), and swim!

Slightly emotional but very grateful as we pull into port in Sir Bani Yas Island, UAE. It's not often I'm up this early, especially on a cruise, but I thought why not today!

This was the first cruise port I ever visited, with mum when on my first ever cruise on Jewel of the Seas back in Feb 2020! 11 cruises later and here I am again, back in this special port ♥️🇦🇪

🚢 MSC World Europa

I've been onboard this GIGANTIC ship for just over 24 hours and I am just taken aback by her beauty and size! This is MSC's largest ship - with 22 decks, as many as 7,000 passengers, and over 200,000 GT - I've never been so amazed! This week-long cruise is taking me from Dubai-Abu Dhabi-Sir Bani Yas-Dammam-Doha-Dubai. 🇦🇪🇸🇦🇶🇦☀️

Having tried MSC late last year, I knew I'd like what was to come, but I didn't know if I'd like such a big ship. Cruisers often talk about how a big ship means a crowded ship, but if anything this has been less crowded than some of the smallest I've been on - and we are sailing at capacity!

The ship is stunning and has that omnipresent signature MSC scent, it's high tech, and it's crew are the best of the best! 💯

The key thing with MSC is the value for money - this week only cost me £550! The food is enjoyable, the service top rate, the facilities, shops and entertainment venues are top class. This evening I have even been to an 'Ibiza rave at sea'! 🤣

Let's just say it is impossible to be bored on MSC World Europa! 🛝😀🎰🍴

What a great couple of days getting used to another stunning ship - this time on a week-long Canaries round trip from Tenerife! 🇪🇸 🇵🇹

It's always nerve-wracking going on a new cruise line, especially as a solo cruiser and after hearing VERY mixed reviews of this line in particular - but nevertheless I've met some fantastic people and had some great times already!

The ship is in good condition for it being 12 years old, and despite the ship being full, there has been excellent service and never a struggle to get a seat in any venue! 😁

🚢 Virgin Voyages' Scarlet Lady - first impressions

Yesterday I embarked on a four night trip on Virgin's first cruise ship, and wow, she is like no other! Virgin is a premium cruise line, targeting those who wouldn't usually think of cruising - it is night and day compared to traditional cruising. This trips itinerary is Miami-Sea Day-Key West-Bimini-Miami. ☀️🇺🇸🇧🇸

The ship is stunning, adults only, and takes approximately 2770 passengers (this week we are sailing at 50% capacity). There is no buffet, no mega-theatre, no main dining room. 🎭

The crew are encouraged to be individuals, allowed to display tattoos, piercings, coloured hair, and they are so full of life!

As much as I love the ship and the food is AMAZING, I'm not convinced that Virgin Voyages is the cruise line for me. After all, I'm far from their target market. The next few days should be interesting!

A few days ago we were in Genoa, in the Liguaria region of Italy (also the home of MSC!). I wasn't particularly excited about Genoa, but wow I was wrong not to be!

I decided to do a 4 hour guided walking tour with a focaccia tasting session. What a stunning city - with a perfect mix of Baroque, Gothic, and Renaissance architecture.

I also met two fantastic folks, Susan and Jonathan, from Seattle USA. As I always say, cruising is as much about the people you meet as it is the places you visit!

Yesterday I found myself on a walking tour through beautiful Aix 🇫🇷, a town approximately 30 minutes from Marseille where we were docked.

I didn't really know what to expect, but wow did Aix deliver! It was market day and I can safely say that I have never seen so many market stalls, spread across so much space, with so many beautiful things to offer! If it wasn't for luggage and customs restrictions, it could have turned into quite an expensive day 💶.

I am always fascinated by religious architecture, and Aix's cathedral ⛪️ was absolutely breathtaking. Walking through the streets, I felt like I was in the little filming town where Mr Bean meets Sabine in Mr Beans Holiday! 🤣

Whilst this may not be a top 💯 place to visit, I'd certainly recommend a half day to wander the streets and meet the locals!
