Giving Back. Inspiring Forward. Elevating the Next Generation.
The Honourable Company of Air Pilots Hong Kong Region proudly hosted one of Asia’s largest women-focused aviation conferences this week at Cathay City, Hong Kong — bringing together airline captains, engineers, ATC specialists, safety experts and aviation executives to inspire the next generation of young women.
Throughout the day, members of Airpilots (HK Region) volunteered their time and experience to mentor, share stories, and show young people what a real aviation career looks like. The atmosphere was energetic, honest, and deeply motivating.
We were honoured to be joined by an outstanding group of speakers, including:

…and other leaders who generously shared their career journeys, challenges, and the truths behind what it takes to succeed in aviation.
As Captain Robert Jone shared during the event:
“Aviation has always been built on mentorship. When we share what we’ve learned, we help open doors for those coming after us. Today we showed young women that they belong in every part of this profession — in the cockpit, engineering, air traffic control, and leadership.”
Steven Cheung, from the Airpilots (HK Region) Women in Aviation summit organising committee, added:
“We wanted every participant to leave knowing this: aviation is not an unreachable dream. With the right guidance, support and courage to take that first step, it is absolutely possible.”
The response from the young participants — representing more than 30 nationalities — was overwhelming. Many described the day as “life-changing,” “eye-opening,” and “the first time I felt aviation was possible for me.”
