As the maritime community marks World Environment Day 2026, this year’s theme — “Climate Action” — underscores the urgency of transitioning to a low-carbon future.
At Pacific Basin, we are reducing our carbon intensity and progressing towards our industry’s goal of net-zero emissions by around 2050 through a focused, multifaceted approach:
⚓️ Energy-efficient technology adoption: Investing in technologies that improve our vessels’ performance and reduce fuel consumption
⚓️ Carbon-efficient operational measures: Leveraging our data and digital optimisation tools to drive more efficient voyages and fleet deployment
⚓️ Fleet renewal for energy efficiency: Gradually replacing our older ships with more efficient, modern vessels
⚓️ Advancing Low-Emission Vessels: Prioritising newbuilds of the latest fuel-efficient designs and maintaining readiness to adopt dual-fuel LEVs as regulations evolve
⚓️ Expanding access to green fuels: Increasing our use of biofuels – and eventually also other low-carbon alternatives in line with global and regional regulations
These actions – alongside our many other environmental initiatives – support our sustainable growth and contribute to a more resilient maritime future.
