well, mt. Fuji is definitely one of the symbol of Japan.
Dont be suprised to have fujisan view for any hotels restaurants or even on the street, becauae you are just around the area, one of 2 closest prefectures in Japan. And this city is called Fuji ! 😜 These places are far from the tourist city, but it's just what the daily life of the locals. By distance, it's far away, but its accessibility is quite high indeed, consider it's not for tourist. Taking train and sightseeing bus could bring you there.
Why Shizuoka? If you are interested in Japanese culture, you know there's a native idea that front side of Mt. Fuji should be here but not Yamanashi.(not aim to argue, just share 🙏) Seeing such famous place from another side, apart from most of the tourist way. Being more native, more local.
