As we welcome the Lunar New Year 🧧, everyone at Fortune Freight Group would like to sincerely thank our customers, partners, and teams for your continued support and trust. We never take your confidence in us for granted, and we are grateful for the partnerships that allow us to keep your cargo moving every day.

We look forward to continuing our work together in the year ahead.

🍷 Expert Wine Logistics with Thermal Protection 🍷

Wine is highly sensitive to temperature fluctuations, especially during warmer seasons. Excessive heat exposure during transit can compromise quality, stability, and shelf life.

At Fortune Freight Group, we specialize in wine logistics and utilize thermal blankets to mitigate heat risk during ocean and inland transport. Thermal blanketing helps reduce temperature spikes during port stays and transit, offering an effective and cost-efficient alternative to refrigerated containers when conditions allow.

By combining seasonal planning, route analysis, and proper container preparation, our team ensures wine shipments are protected from origin to destination.

When it comes to moving wine, experience matters.

📢Eastbound Market Update
November demand remained soft, and spot rates fell due to oversupply. Carriers employed blank sailings and GRI measures to slow the decline.
For December, rates to USWC and USEC remain similar to late November levels, with only limited success in raising USWC rates. USEC rates stay flat near break-even.

📈 Outlook
A brief rebound in demand is expected before Chinese New Year, accompanied by an increase in blank sailings.
The 2026 Transpacific outlook remains flat as “China + 1” sourcing continues to grow, shifting more volume to Vietnam, Thailand, and India amid ongoing U.S. policy uncertainty.

Staying flexible and closely monitoring the market will be crucial in the coming months.

🚢 According to weekly analysis from Drewry, in the upcoming five weeks (Week 49-2025 to Week 01-2026), carriers have canceled 56 out of 719 planned sailings—about 8% of total departures. The distribution of cancellations is as follows:
Transpacific Eastbound: 48%
Asia–Europe/Med: 25%
Transatlantic Westbound: 27%

Despite these cancellations, 92% of departures are still scheduled to sail as planned.

🔗 Stay tuned for more insights as we continue to monitor these market movements.

At Fortune Freight Group, we bring deep expertise to complex OOG and project cargo movements.

We recently completed the import of a Circulation Mill Fan from Xingang, China to Kaohsiung, handling the full scope from receiving, loading, and lashing onto 4 x 40’ Flat Racks, totaling 49 metric tons.

With coordinated customs clearance and final delivery in Taiwan, the project was executed safely, compliantly, and on schedule.

Delivering oversized cargo requires precision, experience, and teamwork and this project is a strong example of what we do best.

Logistics from A to Z ⛴️ 📦 🚚

At Fortune Freight Group, buyers’ consolidation is one of our core strengths. By managing cargo from multiple vendors and unifying them into a single, efficient shipment, we help our clients significantly reduce freight costs, optimize container usage, and simplify end-to-end logistics.

Recently, we arranged a visit for our partner and their client to connect directly with vendors and inspect CFS warehouse operations in Guangzhou. From the initial loose carton loading to the final container delivery at the customer’s warehouse in the Netherlands, every step was executed perfectly.

A deal has been reached between the U.S. and China, marking a pivotal shift in global trade dynamics.

Starting May 14, tariffs on Chinese goods will drop from 145% to 30%, while China will reduce duties on U.S. goods from 125% to 10%. This drastic change is already sending ripples through the freight market.

🔺 Carriers are now pushing for weekly GRIs, up from the usual bi-weekly, highlighting a fast-moving and potentially volatile rate environment.

🔻 Vessel capacity from China had already declined by 30–40% due to production slowdowns caused by the high tariffs. Now, with rates easing, a surge in cargo volume is expected—one that carriers may not be ready to handle.

🚢 To stay ahead of the curve, we’ve already begun pre-booking shipments.
If you plan to move cargo during this 90-day window, please get in touch with us early so we can prioritize your space and ensure smooth handling.

08/04/2025

The U.S. administration, under President Trump, has announced a sweeping new round of tariffs that significantly expand duties on imports, signaling a major escalation in global trade tensions. At Fortune Freight Group, we're closely tracking these developments and their impact on international logistics and supply chain planning.

Effective April 5, a 10% base tariff will apply to all imported goods from all countries, covering cargo loaded on vessels from that date forward.
Additional surcharges will begin on April 9 for selected countries and will be applied on top of existing tariffs. For example, the total effective tariff on goods from China will rise to 54%.

Canada and Mexico will continue under the existing 25% tariff regime, with exemptions under the USMCA. The United Kingdom, which has not imposed reciprocal measures, will only be subject to the new 10% base rate.
Goods with at least 20% U.S.-origin content may qualify for tariff relief. This provision is expected to increase compliance requirements as importers seek to validate and document qualifying U.S. value.

Certain product categories remain excluded, including steel, aluminum, autos, specific pharmaceuticals, and semiconductors, already covered by prior trade measures. A full list of exemptions is available via the official notice.
The current de minimis exemption (duty-free entry for shipments valued under $800) is scheduled to end on May 2. These shipments will instead face a minimum duty of 30% of their value or $25 (whichever is higher) rising to $50 per item starting June 1. Transport providers will need to select one method and apply it consistently for each month, with the option to change once monthly. According to the executive order, U.S. Customs processes over 4 million small shipments per day.

The administration has also indicated it may raise tariffs further in response to any retaliatory actions by trading partners.

Fortune Freight Group remains committed to helping clients navigate these fast-moving changes with timely updates and tailored logistics solutions.

From Belgium to Taiwan – Tim's New Perspective on Global Trade! ✨🌏

As a Belgian intern at Fortune Freight in Taipei, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to gain firsthand experience in freight forwarding and global logistics. Coming from Belgium, where logistics is largely focused on imports, it has been eye-opening to work with Taiwanese export clients. Instead of bringing goods into the country, businesses here are looking for the most efficient ways to ship their products abroad, whether to Europe, the U.S., or other global markets. Seeing this difference firsthand has given me a much broader understanding of international trade.

One of the highlights of my experience was visiting manufacturers in Taichung, where I got to see production facilities firsthand and understand the logistical challenges involved in getting Taiwanese-made products to customers worldwide. It was fascinating to learn how freight forwarding connects manufacturers with global markets and ensures a seamless flow of goods.
Another major takeaway has been learning about freight forwarding itself. While it’s just one part of the supply chain, it provides a great overview of how everything connects—from manufacturing and warehousing to transportation and final delivery. Being in this role has helped me see how all the moving parts of logistics come together to keep global trade running smoothly.

I also had the opportunity to visit The Belgian Office in Taipei, where we explored ways to strengthen trade ties between Taiwan and Belgium. This experience has truly highlighted how interconnected global supply chains are and how important communication is in this fast-paced industry.

Interning at Fortune Freight has been an amazing learning experience, and I’m excited to continue expanding my knowledge of international logistics! 🌍🚢
