As stated in section 2 of our Rule Book, the Objects of the Union are:

(1) To secure the complete organization in the Union of all persons who are ordinarily resident in Hong Kong and employed by Cathay Pacific Airways, Ltd. (2) To obtain and maintain just and proper rates of salary, hours of work, and other conditions of service and generally to protect the interests of members. (3) To regulate

the relations and to settle disputes between members and employers, between one member and another, and between members and other employees by amicable agreements whenever possible. (4) To promote a spirit of mutual respect and understanding between the employer and the union and to secure the establishment of recognized and permanent machinery for negotiation with the management. (5) To provide, for members any or all of the following benefits and such others as the Annual or Extraordinary General Meeting may decide:
1.Monetary relief, or such other benefits as may be decided for accident and disablement.
2.Death gratuities and funeral expenses.
3.Educational fees.
4.Victimisation and trade dispute benefits.
5.Legal advice and legal assistance where necessary in connection with the employment of members. (6) Generally to promote the material, cultural, social, educational, and recreational welfare of the members in any lawful manner by the provision of educational facilities, and other undertakings, industrial or otherwise, which the Annual or Extraordinary General Meeting may from time to time deem expedient. (7) The furtherance, financial or otherwise, of the work or purpose of any lawful association or federal body having for its objects the promotion of the interests of labour, trade unionism, or trade unionists. (8) The establishment of, carrying on, or participation, financial or otherwise, in the business of the printing or publishing of a general newspaper or of journals, books, pamphlets, or publications, in the interests of and with the main purpose of furthering the interests of the union or of trade unionism generally.

Dear Members,

This coming Friday 22/5 will be our Annual General Meeting. The AGM will start registration at 15:00 in Shantung II room, level 8, Cordis Hong Kong. We sincerely welcome all of you come and join us to share your ideas and feedbacks. Your ExCo will also share FAU latest achievements, updates and present the annual report. All attendees who stayed throughout the whole meeting can join our extra lucky draw. We hope to see everyone of you at the meeting.

Dear Members,

We would like to share a brief update following our recent Topical Meeting with ISD on 14th April.

During the meeting, we discussed several key operational matters. We relayed members’ feedback regarding the recent changes to the ZRH flight schedule and proposed further reviews on layover durations.

We also exchanged views on current manpower and crew complements across various fleets to better address inflight service demands.

Furthermore, we covered other important issues, including updates on AL payment calculations, transportation provisions for late-night duties, and reviews of weather-related and turnaround allowances.

As discussions on these topics are ongoing, please refer to the recent email sent to you for a comprehensive breakdown of the meeting details.

Lastly, we encourage all members to attend our upcoming AGM on 22nd May, where further updates will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there.

Dear Members,

In view of the evolving situation in the Middle East, please stay safe and keep alert to any operational updates. We strongly advise all Members to follow the Company’s instructions, as well as all local authority directions, at all times.

Please remain vigilant throughout duty, including during layovers and airport transits. Ensure you remain contactable at all times and maintain close communication with the SCCM and cockpit crew. Should there be any emergency situation, please make sure your passport, CMC, and your phone with you.

Dear Members,

We are deeply saddened by the tragic accident that occurred in Tai Po recently. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the victims and their families during this difficult time.

We have reached out to the affected Members to offer necessary support, and FAU has prepared an urgent relief fund to assist those in need through this challenging period. In addition, we have coordinated with ISD on duty‑related matters and the support provided by the Company, and we appreciate the prompt action and transparency demonstrated in this regard. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and ensure that the assistance remains adequate for our Members.

Members in need of assistance or emotional support are encouraged to contact the FAU Office or make use of the Company’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for guidance and resources.
