Hactl Showcases Hong Kong’s Event Logistics Strength at GELS 2026

As the Presenting Partner of the Global Event Logistics Summit 2026 (GELS 2026), Hactl shared forward looking insights and extensive experience in large scale event logistics, reinforcing Hong Kong’s strong position as a global hub for mega events.
Organised by STAT Times, the inaugural GELS 2026 was held in Bangkok from 28 to 29 May under the theme “Moving the World’s Biggest Moments.” The Summit brought together leaders from all over the world to examine the different aspects of the supply chains behind sports, arts, music, fashion and major exhibitions, the challenges the industry faces, and the practical solutions that showcase the industry’s advancement and progress.
Hactl Executive Director – Operations, Paul Cheng, delivered the opening remarks at the Summit, highlighting the rapid growth of the global event logistics sector and the critical role of air cargo, as well as Hong Kong’s rise as a leading destination for mega events under the “Mega Events + Tourism” strategy. He also spoke at the panel “From Sketch to Showcase: Moving Masterpieces Beyond Borders,” during which he shared how the state-of-the-art facilities at Hactl’s SuperTerminal 1, from climate control to security and customs coordination, safeguard priceless works in transit. These capabilities directly support Hong Kong's ambition to become a premier arts trading hub. In addition, Paul participated in another panel, “Movement of Medal-Winning Horses,” where he cited Hactl’s role as the cargo handler for the inaugural Longines Masters in Hong Kong, and for four consecutive editions thereafter, to demonstrate its expertise in managing complex, high-value equestrian logistics operations.
Hacis Director Bert Ng spoke at the seminar “Zero Margin, Zero Mistakes: Logistics Behind the World’s Fastest Machines,” where he shared Hactl’s experience in handling major event shipments such as Formula E, for which Hactl served as the cargo handler for its inaugural event in Hong Kong, highlighting the importance of seamless coordination, speed and reliability in supporting global sporting events.
Also representing Hong Kong on stage were Gary Lau and Janet Ng from The Hongkong Association of Freight Forwarding and Logistics (HAFFA), Bradford Lee from Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Anindam Choudhury from TAM Group. They reinforced the city's push to advance the "Mega Events + Tourism" model and its standing as a global aviation and event logistics hub.
