Last week, the crew of STENIA COLOSSUS helped rescue two fishermen from a distressed fishing boat adrift in rough seas.
Working in sea state 6 with strong winds and heavy swell, the crew carefully manoeuvred the vessel and, after several attempts, brought both fishermen safely onboard.
The survivors were given medical checks, food, water, fresh clothing and a place to rest, while the crew continued to care for them until they could be safely transferred to local rescue authorities the following day.
The rescue reflected the professionalism, teamwork and responsibility seafarers bring to helping others in distress at sea, in line with the International Maritime Organization Search and Rescue Convention.
We are proud of Capt. Pankaj K Atlas and the crew of STENIA COLOSSUS for their seamanship, compassion and commitment to safeguarding life at sea when it mattered most.
"It is a great source of pride for the entire team onboard MV STENIA COLOSSUS to know we have the full support of the office. Saving fellow seafarers in distress is a duty we take deeply to heart, and the crew executed the operation with the utmost professionalism." said Capt. Atlas.
