Virgin Australia will increase Sydney to Doha services to twice daily from 7 December 2026 to 28 March 2027 (operated by Qatar Airways).

The additional flights mean passengers will now have three direct daily services to Doha, with all flights featuring ’ renowned Business Class.

This addition through the VA/QR partnership now provides over 7,000 seats a week for SYD passengers to enjoy seamless access to more than 160 destinations across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

While these could easily be items plucked from the menu of a fine-dining restaurant, we happen to be sitting in an airport lounge.

But this isn’t some airline’s showcase flagship first class lounge, or a hidden invitation-only haven for VIPs, high flyers and big spenders.

As unlikely as it sounds, we're in a business class lounge – specifically, the Delta One Lounge at Seattle – and it’s proof of just how good a business class lounge can be.
