Firstly, I would like to say that this post is a long time coming, due to the fact that I did not know how to start or end it....
However, today is the day...
I and all of the team at Island Travel would like to thank you for all of your continued love and support.... Your kind words, make our long, hot & stressful days, all worth it.. We love it when we see you over the years, we are all growing together, looking for better and brighter times ahead..... Your holiday is a very important time of your year and your visit and transfer is very important to us as this is our life....
Summer '25, went by very quick.... we were busy and things went along quite smoothly until of course, my dread, the flight delays started, completely ruining my beautiful driver schedules which take soooooooooo long to make.... we seem to get obsessed.... wheres the easy? ok, its just taken off, but the Jet 2 is passing the Shipwreck... etc.. lol .... oh the joys, but we love our jobs, it takes a lot of planning.... and in general, we manage to provide the best service possible under difficult conditions..... The Island Travel team is growing, my prayers were answered and the lovely Despina, came back to help me in the office, she truly is a godsend & the best PA a girl could have x ... I would like to thank all of our drivers..
Zois, Babis, Dimitris & Vasilis.... they have to put up with so much.... early starts & late finishes with me on the phone, asking where they are and how long are they going to be.... me changing there schedules and directions at the last minute... but I could not ask for a better team... they have done us all proud... my husband Nikos, I do not know how he sticks it at the airport all day, trying to find everybody who does not make themselves known to the drivers and in quiet moments cannot even sit down for 5 minutes rest due to the fact that they have taken all of the chairs away at the airport, very hard, I could not do it & then for him to come home at 11 at night, to then have to do at least another two hours work due to the demands of the government needing to know our every move for every driver and every transfer the next day... my little mini me, Angelina, still singing and dancing.. living the dream, she's going to be a rich and famous singer, who will give me money so I do not have to work anymore and give me VIP tickets to see her... bless, she is funny.... however, just in case she is in training, this year she has been handling the till, so thank you for all of your patience when waiting for change... also what she does best, socialising, she loves speaking to you all & she does get spoilt....
This summer was strange & I can now say, that it is the first time that I have actually wanted to get out of the building which we call our office.... during the heart of the summer, myself & Despina were in the office, me stirring my coffee and Despina on the phone with a guest, when we heard a bang, for us to look and see a car flying at us at full speed...we both cannot get this vision out of our minds, nothing can explain how a car managed to get up so high and smash into the front of our office, smashing windows and doors and my newly fixed quad bike... but I am so thankful nobody was hurt.... physically... I have a few issues with flashbacks still and of course the what ifs... a couple of minutes before I was out there, the day before 10 people were waiting in the same spot at the same time to go on a trip.. my baby, always sits out there etc. etc. etc....
I am hoping the break of winter away from the building will bring me back, stronger than ever...
On a brighter note, we are already planning for next year, we are taking bookings and so far it looks promising... hopefully, we will be expanding our fleet, so that we will be able to provide more transfers than ever and a better service for all....
So on this final note, once again, all of the Island Travel team, would like to thank you for all of your support, all of your recommendations and for all of your love...
