Looked upon my last Geek Island sunset last night and managed to catch up with a few of the girls from the cruise for a final lunch and farewell today before catching the bus to the airport. Two more nights and I start the long trek home. Where has 8 weeks gone!🤔😩😢

Spent last night moored off Dilos Island after a beautiful swim and headed into the Mykonos new port to dock. We have a birthday girl on board so pimped up the boat to celebrate. Went to the old port and town to wander around and have dinner at a beautiful restaurant. Now it’s time to celebrate the end of a fantastic trip!

Sailed to Koufonisi island for some snorkeling in some caves off the coast. Beautiful crystal clear water and lovely fish. Pulled in to the port and walked around to the devils eye, a deep hole in the cliff filled with water. With much convincing (to myself) I finally jumped in (seperate video). Wandered back and met a lovely young girl from Albany on the way. Another sensational sunset and dinner in the town.

Woke up and as we sailed to Antikeros for a swim, met a few playful friends along the way. From there we sailed to a shipwreck used in the movie The Big Blue and got to snorkel around it. The water is such a beautiful blue it is just amazing. Moored in Amorgos and went to an amazing monastery high up the side of a cliff. Watched the sun set from high on the hill with old windmills. Dinner at Captain Dimo’s and then I think it’s time for bed.

Travelled from Ios to an island where we swam over a WW2 German fighter plane that had crashed, such beautiful clear water. From there we parked up at Schoinoussa for the most amazing degustation meal after another swim in crystal clear water. Such a fantastic and relaxing ending to my day.

Left Santorini at about 1.30 pm and arrived in Ios (pronounced Eos) after dark after sailing for about 5 and a half hours. Wandered up the hill to a lovely restaurant for dinner and to continue to get to know my fellow travellers. I am bunked up with a lovely Canadian woman 5 years my senior and we are getting on well. The age range is 28 to 60 with two couples and the rest single women and our free spirited female skipper. So far the group has gelled pretty well and we enjoyed a wonderful day at the beach before climbing the the chapel at the top of the hill to watch an amazing sunset and heading to dinner at a fantastic Greek tapas restaurant. The hommus duo was a stand out, but everything was so delicious. We stopped at a nearby bar and I had a couple of Woo Woo cocktails that made me feel a bit woo woo🤪. Back to the boat for a night cap and tucked up by 1am. Tomorrow we will have breakfast and head out to an island a few hours away to snorkel over an aeroplane wreck and then moor near another for dinner at the skippers favourite restaurant.
Such a wonderful day of rest and relaxation!

I was up early to catch the 8.55am flight to Santorini. The bus into Fira, the main town was easy but finding the bus to Akrotiri was controlled chaos. Lots of coaches coming and going in a small space with people milling around trying to find the bus they want, several people nearly got run over! Finally found the one I wanted and arrived at my little hotel for the night. The view is stunning and I am sitting on my veranda watching the sun set as I write this.
After checking in I couldn’t help but dip my toes into the Aegean Sea as I walked to Red Beach. There was a lovely church in the classic white and blue on the way as well as some seafood restaurants I plan to check out for dinner. I was really hot by the time I returned so went for a swim and considered watching the world go by from a lounge chair by the sea.
Instead I jumped on the bus back to Fira and explored the markets and town. It seems the most colourful buildings are churches and there are many of them. I also picked up some very light, loose fitting cotton tops in the market that I think will be perfect for island hopping.
Posts may be be a bit sparodic from tomorrow as the boat has no wifi onboard.⛵️🏝⛵️

Hopped on the bus this morning and stopped briefly at the Olympic stadium for a quick photo stop and moved on to Hadrian’s Arch and The Temple of Zeus. Not far away was the Zappeon, a building made to host athletes for the Olympics in the late 1800’s.
Walked back to the Plakka to explore a few more streets and found a lovely old church with a beautiful garden, so peaceful.
From there went to watch the changing of the guard in front of the tomb of the unknown soldier.
Moved on to Lycabettus Hill. High up the top is a gorgeous church. I was told there was a fenicular to the top, nobody told me about the 217 steps to get to the fenicular!😫
Back on the bus to get back to the hotel and moussaka for dinner, yummy!
