Santorini, known since ancient times as Thira, is one of the most famous islands in the world. The fact that you can sit in front of the caldera, enjoy local dishes, a drink or a coffee while gazing at the remarkable beauty of an active volcano is priceless!
The island is actually a group of islands consisting of Thira, Thirassia, Aspronissi, Palea and Nea Kameni in the southernmost part of the Cyclades.
Fira is the picturesque capital of the island perched on the top edge of the Caldera, 260m above sea level, offering breathtaking views to the Aegean Sea and the island of Nea Kameni. Along the border of the caldera you’ll come across the renowned villages of Oia - the whole village looks like a work of art as the houses are carved into the lava rock - Imerovigli and Firostefani, which are the best spots for you to get your sunset views.
Other famous yet smaller villages, some cosmopolitan, some more traditional, some with vast vineyards to explore, others on a cliff-top affording amazing views over the Aegean are Akrotiri and Messa Vouno - with their famous archaeological sites - Pyrgos, Karterades, Emporio, Ammoudi, Finikia, Perissa, Perivolos, Megalochori, Kamari, Mesaria and Monolithos. Soaking up the villages’ distinctive topography, whitewashed houses and alleys vs lava-black terrain, is a rewarding experience that one might say is unique!

Among other places you will visit, Oia village that is a dream for every photographer and Fira town ( capital of Santorini ) has a wealth of breathtaking views. Visit one of the wineries overlooking the volcano to see the beautiful view of Santorini one more time from a different angle.
Stop at the black Sandy beach of Santorini for swimming and lunch at a waterfront restaurant if you would like. After, we will drive to the oldest church on the Island in Mesa Gonia ( Panagia Episkopi ) and up to the Prophet Elias mountain to see the monastery of Prophet Elias that it was built in 1800 and the whole Island from 600 meters height

Akrotiri is a traditional Santorini village built around the medieval castle. It is located at the southwestern end of the island, near the famous Red Beach and at a distance of 15 kilometers from Fira. It has an amazing view towards the volcano, Oia and the entire caldera.
The medieval castle dominates the top of the village. Akrotiri was one of the five fortified settlements on the island. The Akrotiri Lighthouse, built in 1892 by the French Lighthouse Company, is also noteworthy. It is one of the best preserved lighthouses in Greece and one of the most important attractions of the island
