This facebook-page is dedicated to our old, closed and abandoned Hellenikon - Athens Int. Airport - LGAT.

'Hellenikon' marks a main chapter in the history of Hellenic Aviation, as it was homebase of Olympic Airways (West Terminal) and serving international airliners (East Terminal). Since I do not see it turned into a museum I want to keep this historical place alive in our history,

as I am willing to collect as much as memories as I can for next generations to see and enjoy. This is the airport of my dearest childhood and youth, a place dear to many many Greeks, now closed and perhaps soon disapearing forever. This page is made in full honour of the airport all Greeks loved so much, in full honour of our old Olympic Airways as well in full honour of everyone who worked there. Please visit and like. A special and warm thanks to Daan Schols, one of my best friends in The Netherlands, for making the splendid pictures during our visit in May 2018. The soft light I used to know was still there, filling my heart for the rest of my life with rich and dear memories, passed visions, nostalgia, pride, eufory and sadness💙😌✈️
