After 21 months of no travelling at all, travel enthusiast Lee Ainsworth went on a two in one holiday to Mauritius, stopping by in Dubai 🏝

In Dubai Lee, fiancé and mum had an amazing time at the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo 🐠

They also visited The View Palm for some amazing views of Dubai and would definitely recommend! 🌆

Upon arriving at Mauritius, here’s what Lee said:

“Wow! I’m not sure if I have any other words for how beautiful the first look of Mauritius is 😀

We had a fantastic morning exploring Grand Baie, temples and church 😍🏝😍

Visitor numbers are going up and the shops, bars and restaurants are starting to re-open in anticipation of more visitors in winter. 🥳✈️🏝

Masks are being worn when walking around, top tip is to wear a lighter mask and not a heavy cotton one. Overall you don’t even notice wearing it, I mean… there’s plenty of distraction when the views are this good 😍

😍✈️🏝🌸🌼 Pamplemousses Gardens were absolutely stunning 😀

💰💰Just 200 Mauritian Rupees to enter and a guide is available for just 75 Mauritian Rupees, per person. 💰💰”

Recent traveller had what looks like an incredible holiday in Barbados! 🇧🇧 Here’s what she had to say;

🧳 We booked with the fantastic team at If Only who include a VIP service on arrival at Barbados airport. This was so helpful after a long flight to have someone wizz you through to the front of queues and tell you what you needed and when, highly recommended for your customers.

🏝 We stayed at Treasure Beach- The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.

🍳Breakfast menu includes continental and cooked breakfast
🥙 Lunch you can choose from 3 starters and 3 main courses each day - and all options were very good - particularly the chicken wrap which was lush - we did however have the same lunch menu for 4 days in a row, which wasn’t perfect but didn’t bother us
🥘Dinner - all served and a la carte so no buffet which was great - 3 starters, 3 mains, 3 dessert all very high standard and changes nightly!

🛏 Rooms are very comfortable and clean, spacious, good air con etc. Our only issue was very little water pressure on the shower but I know it was being worked on.

♻️ My only issue was the amount of single use plastic being used! We took our own water bottles and filled up at breakfast and lunch as the tap water is perfectly safe in Barbados but the hotel gave guests small bottles of water for round the pool and I would say each guests was drinking 5 or 6 a day! It may be a COVID measure but please encourage your customers to take their reusable bottles with them!

👍🏼All in all I would recommend unless you are someone that wants speedy service as it’s not the Caribbean way - would also recommend the fab team at If Only - this trip was third time lucky for us due to COVID and they couldn’t have been more helpful each time we had to move it! The rep in resort Antoine was also amazing! Thanks If Only and Tracy Docherty 🙏🏼

Kelly Cookes recently travelled to Raz Al Khaimah for a family holiday, here's what Kelly said:

🔬To get into Dubai we had to do a PCR test within 72 hours of arrival – this is for age 12 and over only so was not required for the children. We used the Randox home tests via the agreement that we have in place. We flew on Saturday evening so did these on Thursday and then dropped them off at one of the drop boxes. The results came through mid-morning on the Friday. We also had to download a specific Dubai covid app.

😷The adults wore masks at Birmingham Airport and on the flight. Masks are still compulsory in Dubai and you have to wear one inside and outside but this wasn’t as issue for us and everyone there seemed very compliant. Everyone we went there was security checking that people were wearing masks correctly.

🏝️On arrival we got through the airport quickly, collected a car and drove 1.5 hours to Raz Al Khaimah. We stayed at the Hilton Beach Resort on all inclusive. Mask wearing was compulsory inside and for the first couple of days the buffet was served and then it changed and we could help ourselves. There was lots of space so easy to maintain social distancing and hygiene protocols were in place all around the hotel. You didn’t need to wear a mask when moving around outside or by the pools/on the beach.

✈️We then travelled over to Dubai and stayed with friends but we did go out and about a lot. Everywhere in Dubai was busy so at times social distancing was a challenge but due to the mask wearing and sanitising it wasn’t an issue for us. Again, at every location (the mall, the Atlantis etc.) there were security checking that people were wearing masks.

🦠We travelled back the day the rules changed to allow lateral flow tests but we had pre booked a PCR with Randox so did this using the same process as before we went.
