We were delighted to welcome Mr. Stamatis Tsantanis, CEO of Seanergy Maritime Holdings Corp., and his team to our booth at Posidonia 2026, together with Professor Manolis Kavousanos, Founder of the MSc in International Shipping, Finance and Management (ISFM).

It was particularly rewarding to see that Mr. Tsantanis’ team includes both alumni and current students of the MSc in ISFM. Their presence within a leading publicly listed shipping company reflects the strong expertise, professionalism, and industry readiness that characterize our program.

Moments like these reaffirm the close ties between the MSc in ISFM and the global maritime industry, while highlighting the success of our graduates and students, who continue to build distinguished careers across some of the most respected organizations in shipping.

The MSc in International Shipping, Finance and Management is proudly participating in Posidonia 2026.

Our exhibition journey began with a distinguished visit from Mr. Stefanos Gkikas, Deputy Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy of the Hellenic Republic, who, together with his staff, honored our booth on the opening day and symbolically inaugurated our participation in the event.

Our booth has been full of life these days, with faculty members and students sharing the unique experience of Posidonia and engaging with visitors from across the global maritime community.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has helped bring the vibrant MSc in ISFM community to life at Posidonia so far, especially Professor Manolis Kavussanos, Asst. We were delighted to host Prof. Phoebe Koundouri at AUEB this week for a guest presentation to our MSc in International Shipping, Finance and Management students.

Prof. Koundouri is the Principal Investigator of the EXCEED Project at the Athena Research Center and introduced our students to the Erasmus+ EXCEED – Excellence In Green And Digital Manufacturing Programme and its flagship training opportunity: "Decarbonization Expert in the Shipping Sector."

This is a fully funded, English-taught, blended training programme that equips students with exactly the skill set the shipping industry is now urgently looking for: climate change and sustainability, maritime decarbonization, alternative fuels, decarbonization technologies, advanced manufacturing in shipbuilding, and integrated management skills. Selected participants will also have the opportunity to engage in international mobility and hands-on placements through HELMEPA's (Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association) network of shipping industry partners.

Our Director, Assoc. Prof. Dimitris Tsouknidis commented: "Hosting sessions like this one reflects a core commitment of the MSc ISFM: ensuring our students are not only trained in the financial, commercial, and managerial dimensions of shipping, but also exposed — directly and through leading voices — to the regulatory, environmental, and technological transitions reshaping the industry. The green and digital transformation of the shipping industry is no longer a future agenda; it is part of the operational reality our graduates will step into."

We were honoured to welcome Ms. Danae Bezantakou, CEO of Navigator Shipping Consultants and Concept Founder of the YES Forum, at the Athens University of Economics and Business for an insightful presentation to the students of the MSc in International Shipping, Finance and Management.

During the presentation, students had the opportunity to gain valuable insights into the current landscape of the Greek shipping market, the strong connection between shipping and finance, and the new skills and career opportunities emerging in the maritime sector. The discussion also highlighted the importance of networking, adaptability, and continuous professional development for young professionals entering the industry.

Particular emphasis was given to the initiatives and opportunities offered through the YES Forum, as well as the role of the Youth Day of Posidonia in connecting students and young executives with the global maritime community.

We would like to sincerely thank Ms. Danae Bezantakou for sharing her experience, knowledge, and valuable advice with our students.
