General Production Operative: Graders / Packers

R S Cockerill supply potatoes to the discount retailers and foodservice industry. We are looking for General Production Operatives to work on various production lines at our base at Dunnington, just East of York.
Job role
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be required to:
• To work in a friendly environment either potato grading at the start of the production line or working at the end of the line packing finished product into trays / shippers.
• The Ideal candidate should have previous experience working in a production environment, other candidates will be considered pending previous work experience. (Full training will be given).
• Candidate must be able to work under pressure due to high customer demand.

Job requirements:
Candidates will be expected to possess:
• Good level of communication skills, with the ability to understand and share verbal instruction in English.
• Able to work as part of a team, and take instruction from line managers and supervisors.
• Show full co-operation and awareness of company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure that all company policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Access to own transport due to location.

If you’re handy, practical and enjoy a varied workload, we’re looking for an individual to help us maintain our site at Dunnington, just East of York.

Job role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be required to:
• Maintain the internal and external fabric of all buildings, as well as the grounds.
• Working to a high standard, maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Report and record any maintenance issues.

Job requirements
Candidates will be expected to possess:
• Carry out general maintenance and repairs, such as mowing and strimming the grounds.
• Basic electrical and plumbing skills, such as changing light bulbs.
• General carpentry skills to repair wooden boxes, amongst other tasks.
• Ability to work at heights to help maintain buildings.

Job role
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be required to:
• Work indoors using Electric Counterbalance Fork Lift Trucks to move and weigh finished goods.
• Using Diesel Counterbalance Fork lift Trucks to work outside loading/unloading trailers, and loading production lines with raw material.

Job requirements
Candidates will be expected to possess:
• Good level of communication skills, with the ability to understand and share verbal instruction in English.
• Forklift truck experience is essential.
• Computer literate advantageous.
• Possess good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Show full co-operation and awareness of company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Have a positive and enthusiastic ‘can do ‘attitude.
• Ensure that all company policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Access to own transport due to location.

• Follow a Planned Preventative Maintenance Programme.
• Fault finding and emergency repairs to resume production as soon as possible.

• Reconditioning, adaption and fabrication of new and existing machinery.
