UKโIndia Free Trade Agreement (FTA) goes live on 15 July 2026
A major milestone for businesses trading between the UK and India.
๐ Key Highlights:

India's average tariff on UK goods reduced from 15% to 3%

99% of Indian exports to the UK gain duty-free access by value
โ
India to reduce tariffs on approximately 90% of UK goods
โ
UK whisky tariffs reduced from 150% to 75% immediately, falling to 40% over time
โ
UK automotive tariffs reduced from 100%+ to 10% under agreed quotas
โ
Improved access for sectors including Textiles, Fashion, Pharma, Food & Beverage, Cosmetics, Engineering and Auto Components
โ ๏ธ To benefit from reduced or zero-duty tariffs, businesses must ensure compliance with Rules of Origin requirements and complete the necessary HMRC registration.
