HGV Workshop Mechanic

We are looking for a skilled and motivated HGV Workshop Mechanic to join our busy workshop. If you have experience maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles and take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship, we'd like to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults efficiently.
• Perform MOT preparation and ensure vehicles meet roadworthiness standards.
• Complete inspections, preventative maintenance, and safety checks.
• Replace and repair components including brakes, suspension, steering, engines, and transmissions.
• Accurately complete job cards and maintenance records.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.
• Work independently and as part of a team to meet workshop deadlines.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous experience as an HGV or commercial vehicle mechanic.
• Relevant mechanical qualifications (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent preferred).
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of current health and safety practices.
• A proactive attitude and excellent attention to detail.
• A full UK driving licence (HGV licence is desirable but not essential).
• The ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards.
