Changes are coming.

As of the 1st of January 2022, all goods of every type, shape and size must be pre-cleared before they enter the country. Globex news!

We've added to the range of services we offer our clients with recent investment into key warehousing equipment.

We've invested in a semi-automatic mechanical brake pallet wrapper with scales, meaning our turnaround time for preparing customers' consignments can be drastically reduced.

Our team offers a range of ‘pick n pack’ services from our Martlesham warehouse facility, serving customers large and small with their freight forwarding needs.

The new equipment means that customers' loads can be quickly prepared for collection and delivery, with accurate cargo weights provided for load planning and safety compliance.

Globex Managing Director Andy Wilding explains, “We may be operating in uncertain times, but we’re doing what we do best, pressing forward to make our services the best they can be for our customers.

“Our decision to move our offices to Martlesham, and open our own warehouse, was based on our strong belief that the more we can provide to customers ourselves, the better our services will be, as they’re completely in our control.

“The pallet wrapper is a smaller investment but a key part of the service we offer customers from start to finish. I look forward to providing even faster, more efficient consignment handling for our clients.”

We were delighted to share our thoughts and plans for navigating our business through Brexit with Business East Monthly. A full page article appeared this week, with an extended thought piece from Managing Director Andy Wilding.

Talking about our recent investment with a strategy to grow our business, he said, "We’re a small company........but where we benefit is in our vast experience in our industry. Interesting update on the efforts of New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership to keep business in Suffolk and Norfolk at the top of the agenda. The LEP has an Economic Strategy for Norfolk and Suffolk which sets out ambitions to deliver 88,000 new jobs and 30,000 new businesses by 2036.

Business leaders, MPs and council chiefs have come together at Westminster to try to force the government to keep East Anglia's infrastructure needs at the top of the agenda when it looks at boosting spending across the country.

We love an interesting job! A lucky buyer in Malta purchased this fantastic vintage Fiat 500 from here in the UK, so we were contracted to ship it out them.

The customer wanted the car to be in a closed container rather than being shipped by the more widely used car transporter service, so we arranged this via our Malta groupage service.

The impressive car was delivered to us in in Martlesham before being loaded into a container with other commercial cargoes. The container was then taken to Felixstowe Port for shipment on the weekly sailings direct to Malta. Another happy customer!

We recently shared pictures of the fantastic driftwood sculptures we brought into the country for James Doran-Webb driftwood sculptor to exhibit at the Chelsea Flower Show.

Our work didn’t end there however. We then moved this stunning horse to a London depot, then on to its new home at Clonakilty Park Hotel in County Cork, Ireland. Doesn’t it look incredible!

Long-term client James Doran-Webb driftwood sculptor amazed visitors at this year’s Chelsea Flower Shower with his stunning driftwood creations, and we were proud to ship his artwork into the UK and on to the homes of proud new owners.

MD Andy Wilding enjoyed a great day at the show, seeing the sculptures on display.
