We are so incredibly proud of Darren for completing his journey to raise awareness about male breast cancer. When Darren decided to complete this journey 5 weeks ago he has pushed many avenues to spread the word far and wide which gave him an opportunity to meet marti pellow on his love is all around campaign, Darren will be live on the Lorraine show tomorrow to share his story.

Bickford Truck Hire would like to take this opportunity to wish our staff member Darren Pallett the best of Luck in Charity Event to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer Now. Darren is raising awareness to remind people that it is not only women who can get breast cancer and how important it is equally for males to check any changes in their chest.

Darren discovered a Lump last year and was fortunately very quick to get it checked out, where he discovered it was breast cancer after undergoing a mastectomy Darren was given the all clear and put into remission.

We as a company are very proud of Darren and are in full support of his fund raising.

This October Darren will be embarking on a motorcycle ride from John O'Groats to Land's End to help raise funds for Breast Cancer Now.

Bickford Truck Hire require an experienced HGV welder / fabricator and truck bodybuilder to work from our Paradise Lane depot fitting and building ancillary equipment to commercial vehicles. Predominantly for our own fleet and retail sales.

Duties to include -

Fabricating and welding steel subframes

Crane installation

Bodybuilding

We love a truck handover day.

New to the fleet at Wolverhampton based customer, Bickford Truck Hire. This is the first vehicle to be delivered into the Bickford team as part of a larger truck order.

The new Volvo FMX 8x2 rigid is accompanied with the Sterling Plant body. The spec includes D13 Litre 420bhp engine, electro hydraulically steered rear axle for improved manoeuvrability, satellite navigation and in cab storage making it a comfortable and practical environment for the driver.

Our thanks go to Dave and the Bickford family for the order, we look forward to seeing new the Volvo FMX on the road shortly and the remaining vehicles coming through over the forthcoming months.

A father-of-two, who was diagnosed with breast cancer after his wife felt a lump in his chest, is urging other men to make sure they stay alert to the signs and symptoms.

Darren Pallett, a HGV driver from Willenhall, was diagnosed with grade two invasive ductal cancer in June this year and was lucky that it was detected early.

His wife, Fiona, felt a lump in his chest whilst he was lying down. She is profoundly visually impaired, and has a heightened sense of touch.

“It has made me more aware of cancer and how it’s just as important for men to check monthly, as well as women. A lot of my male colleagues thought only women could get it, so raising awareness is important.” Said Darren.
