Heatwave Warning- Transporting Horses and Livestock.
UNLESS THE VEHICLE HAS ELECTRIC AIR CONDITIONING IN THE ANIMAL SECTION - IT IS ILLEGAL TO TRANSPORT ANIMALS WHEN TEMPERATURES ARE 30° AND MORE.
Even if the temperature is 27° and above, it is questionable.
Inside the horsebox is always hotter as you also have body heat from the animal.
Horses, Sheep, Goats, Donkeys, Cattle, Alpaca, Pigs etc.

1. Even with all the windows and vents open, there will be insufficient air flow moving around inside.
2. What air is coming in, is also warm.
3. These both depend on the vehicle moving. If your stationary, or stuck in traffic - NO AIR FLOW.
4. What happens when you break down? NO AIR FLOW.

ALWAYS ask your transporter if they have electric air conditioning in the animal area of the horsebox, if you really have to transport when the outside temperature is going to reach 29° plus. If they dont,please do not risk your animals.
Ask why they think jts acceptable to breach DEFRA/APHA transporting licencing regulations, just for a few ££ 🥵

Red weather warning. With temperatures set to be extremely high Wednesday & Thursday Beau is not available for hire & bookings have been cancelled. Our horses welfare is our priority! Thank you to my clients for understanding and agreeing with my decision! ☺️🦄🚚.

Horses should not be moved from or through any areas where red heat warnings are in place.
