Hello I am Mary and I love being outdoors. Last year my little caravan Ester pulled me out of a huge funk. This summer has been a lot of fun (and hard work) taking my Esterel folding caravan on adventures. Our tiny home has bought the girls and I so much joy.

Last night I was thinking about having a clear out of my camping shed.
This tent gifted to us from has been used for many impromptu weekend trips and festivals. Comes with a little porch to store back packs and shoes and has withheld the winds in open fields at drunken festivals!

So many good memories from this tent and one that the kids and I will definitely be keeping.

Can’t beat a traditional pole tent and a proper wild camp!

*Storage solutions for *

Packing for a festival and packing for camping trip are two separate experiences.

Wagons
The only access to your pitch at camp Bestival is by foot therefore having a wagon to take the load will save you hours of heavy lifting and car park visits. We loaded up our tent and other essentials and headed to our designated pitch. Our Brandon Wagon came everywhere with us over the course of the festival, doubling up as a late night bed for the kids and a carrier for deckchairs.

Packing cubes
I use packing cubes to organise my life on every trip I take. From cruising the med to wild camping, a packing cube offers easy access and requires minimal storage space. Packing cubes are used to store outfits and many other personals. I like to pack accessories accordingly and pair up items.
So I would use one packing cube for towels, bedsheets, socks and underwear.

A Back Pack
From tent to the main arena is a really good walk at the Lulworth site where Camp Bestival is held. We tend to be prepared and pack a full days essentials when leaving camp so a back pack comes in handy. I always have a few spare ziplock plastic bags stuffed inside for storing snacks, extra clothes or holding a water bottle.

Kitchen trolley!

The Stanley tool trolley holds so much and is a portable storage solution on wheels. Use to store cookware and foods. Pack and go.

Storage trunk

50 litres of storage with a pull handle on wheels. You could certainly fit a weeks worth of off grid camping gear in this one.

The best Mother’s Day!

We absolutely loved our first time away in a hired motor home and took advantage of all the mod cons inside.

is our local motor Home Depot and the whole hire process was so easy.

We stayed at a camping and caravanning club site (of course) in Kent and asked to be parked by the play area. My Daughter was able to climb and scoot whilst I watched her from the window of the motor home.

Just outside the Canterbury site is a bus stop with regular buses into town and beyond. We had a fab day out at the sea side with the dog too

Sharing some food ideas. Hot veggie pasties and salad wraps alway go down well with my kids, especially after a long walk in the woods.
Wrapping the pastry parcels in tin foil keeps them just warm enough to eat as finger food. Falafels are also a good food option. In car picnics, in the boot of a good sized 4x4 are a great hideaway from the winds. What an adventure for the kids also.

Can’t beat for family adventures 🚗

It has been a while since we spoke about Ester, my fold down caravan.

Just found some before and after photos. Feeling really proud of the changes that I have made, and I did it ALL by myself.

Scroll for BEFORE piccies. The decor was pretty dull and not my style … at … all.

Still a few bits to do but she is looking lots fresher

Cannot wait to use her again and bring her out of storage
