Marriage with Matilda

Sadly after nearly 7 years, the day has finally arrived, Matilda has left the building.

She’s off to pastures and owners new, where she will be loved again and even given that new coat of paint she has needed for a while now.

It’s been a blast while it lasted and we won’t forget the happy times we had.

Or the breakdowns, oily hands and swearing!! 😂

Wouldn’t change a thing … She even had a tear in her eye this morning too. 😢

The time has sadly come for Matilda to find a new owner to carry on her adventures …

1974 VW Camper Type 2 bay window for sale. £17,500 ovno.

Reluctant sale of “Matilda”, the Australian import to the UK - registered here in 2007 - she is an 1800cc engine, twin carb, pop top with just under 75,000km on the clock.

She is Road Tax exempt and MOT exempt as a vintage vehicle, however has been tested and serviced annually in any case (due again this summer, but not yet completed).

She was imported to the UK in 2007, refurbed and painted in olive green and cream. The paintwork is in need of some work and some rust is appearing under the (original 1974) windscreen. Otherwise a solid van, good runner and reliable.

Priced low in the knowledge that the service and paint will need to be factored in by any buyer.

She has had 3 UK owners over the last 15 years and has been used for camping, day trips and festivals etc. She has also been used for weddings and proms as transport.

Comes with a breathable waterproof cover and a large tent / driveway awning (with some small repairs required).

She has a cooler, gas hob, sink and drainer. Rock and roll double bed, ideal for camping!

She has had a new leisure and engine battery in 2021, fuel lines replaced and electrics updated as well as other work as required over the 6 years I have had her.

I have some of the original Australian paperwork from the 1970’s and also details of the refurb when she got to the UK.

Matilda enjoyed the day too, (despite a few showers!! ☔️) .... a good excuse to get dressed up and show off a bit while having fun driving them to the church and then on to the reception as part of their big day ... with a quick photo opportunity or two along the way📸 😉.

Matilda has been on her holidays ... camping at the Peterborough Beer Festival with her driver (Matilda stuck to non alcoholic oil and unleaded, of course!! 😂)

But she’s back now ready for her next booking in a week or so!!

Matilda has had a run out today round a few north Norfolk locations to blow the cobwebs off after the winter!! 😃

She’s looking forward to getting polished and decorated for some event bookings!!

Matilda the Aussie import 1974 Type 2 Bay VW camper van is available to book for wedding or event transport! 😃

She is chauffeur driven and seats two passengers in the rear plus one in the front if required - all with seat belts. There is a cool box for the bubbly 🥂🍾 and she can be tastefully decorated to suit the occasion so she will always look good in the photos!! 😃🤵👰📷
